Alcons Audio at USITT

Alcons Audio's pro-ribbon based sound systems will be featured extensively at this year's US Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT), Stage Expo. Various Alcons systems will be deployed throughout the show.

Exhibiting at Booth #337 , Alcons Audio will have co-founder Tom Back on hand along with US North American sales manager David Rahn to demonstrate systems and explain the unique Pro Ribbon technology to the next generation of theatre sound designers and technicians.

Rahn comments. "From the earliest days of our US offices we have valued this important organization and the support it provides for our next generation of theatre technical folks".

The new LR15 ultra-compact line arrays will be featured on the show's Main stage, as well as various Alcons outfills, front fills, stage monitors, and subwoofers. Additionally, the Expo stage on the show floor will also feature the new Q series QRP40/QB363mkII point-source column combo.

At the Alcons booth, visitors can enjoy the VR5 micro-monitor with the BF121 subwoofer.

The LR15 is a 2-way, "ultra-compact" format line-source sound system. The RBN502rs pro-ribbon's power handling of 1000W and the 1:15 RMS-to-peak ratio, enable a combination of a long throw with a unique dynamic headroom reserve, even under the highest outputs.

The LR15B is the dedicated low-frequency extension to the LR15, featuring a next-gen 15" woofer, for extended output and further reduced distortion.

The QRP40 2-way column loudspeaker, loaded with 8 5" woofers and the RBN1203 12" / 30cm pro-ribbon driver, is designed for applications where ultimate fidelity response needs to be projected with wide horizontal and narrow vertical coverage, ideal in acoustically challenging environments.

The triple 12" QB363 mkII arrayable subwoofer forms the perfect base as slim profile stack system with the QRP40.

The QRP20 is a compact 2-way column array system with high-Q directivity for increased projection control, without the need for DSP beemsteering.

Featuring the RBN401 pro-ribbon driver with 4 5" woofers, it offers a perfect intelligibility and intuitive linear response at any SPL with a 1:15 dynamic range, ultra-low distortion and a maximum "gain-before-feedback", both in mobile or fixed install applications.

The BC332 is a self-contained, cardioid subwoofer system, designed to offer a tight and accurate sub-bass response, with a controlled-dispersion.

By means of a front positioned 18" and rear located 15" woofer configuration, in combination with dedicated processing, the system offers selectable cardioid low-frequency pattern control with a benchmark-setting rear rejection of up to 42dB, without the need for additional cabinets.
