Bob Gurr Joins The Producers Group Board of Advisors

Bob Gurr, responsible for bringing many of Disneyland's original attractions to life, announced that he has joined the board of advisors of The Producers Group.

"My view, with five decades of experience creating attractions," says Gurr, "is that The Producers Group is optimally positioned for success and innovation -- to provide today's international markets and clients what they need in themed entertainment. I'm well acquainted with the company's mission; I believe in their vision, and I'm excited and honored to accept an advisory role."

Gurr worked as an imagineer for decades, focusing on attraction vehicles and audio-animatronic systems for many Disneyland attractions. His career led him to major design projects for other parks and attractions including Universal Studios and several Las Vegas properties.

Gurr has received high honors from both the fan base and the professional community. The NFFC (Disneyana Fan Club) recognized him in 1997 with a lifetime achievement award; the Themed Entertainment Association presented him with the prestigious Thea Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1999. In 2004, Gurr was named a Disney Legend and received his window on Main Street in 2008 (a tradition in which accomplished employees have their name inscribed on a storefront window along Disneyland's main avenue).

"Mr. Gurr lends an unparalleled wealth of wisdom and experience in attraction design to our team," explains Co-CEO and executive producer Bob Chambers. "He personally mentored me in my development, and I have seen firsthand the rich quantity and quality of his experience."

"Mr. Gurr's vast experience aligns with TPG's reputation as a trusted resource for turn-key production," says Edward Marks, co-CEO and executive producer. "He specializes in design and brings a highly informed perspective on attraction development."

Bob Gurr joins Thomas McCann, David Snyder, Wendy Heimann-Nunes, and Don Iwerks on the TPG board of advisors.
