Over 10,000 Technical Standards Downloaded

Over 10,000 standards have been downloaded since PLASA and ProSight Specialty Insurance announced their partnership to make PLASA's American National Standards available to the industry free of charge just over six weeks ago. Among the most popular standards are ANSI E1.2 - Design, Manufacture, and Use of Aluminum Trusses and Towers, ANSI E1.4 - Manual Counterweight Rigging Systems, ANSI E1.1 - Construction and Use of Wire Rope Ladders, and ANSI E1.6-1 - Powered Hoist Systems.

Individuals involved in every aspect of the entertainment industry have taken advantage of this unique offer including Jeff Carter, retired head of Indiana OSHA and head of the Indiana State Fair stage collapse investigation who told us, "Jim Digby (Event Safety Alliance) sent me your note about ProSight and your ability to distribute the ANSI standards. I appreciate your foresight in getting these important documents out to the community where they can help prevent another similar tragedy. I wanted to extend my appreciation for your working out this arrangement. Thank you."

Steve Jessop, district auditorium manager, media production services, Colorado Springs School District 11 wrote to say, "I just wanted to say, as a technical professional who works supporting the public education system, specifically technical theatre education, thank you for making this available for us to interact with as we teach our students to be competent and safe technicians for the entertainment industry."

ProSight, PLASA, and all the volunteers who write the technical standards are committed to making sure that everyone who attends or works on an entertainment event, from a live show to a film shoot, goes home safely at the end of the day. Technical standards protect lives, prevent accidents, save money, solve problems, and encourage creativity. The partnership between PLASA and ProSight elevates safety protocol by making PLASA's technical standards available to anyone to download, free of charge. The list of standards can be sorted by approval date to see what standards have recently been approved by ANSI.

ProSight's expert underwriters specialize in coverage for entertainment technology professionals and provide responsive insurance solutions that are designed to meet the unique needs of customers.

Additionally, companies who employ ETCP Certified Technicians receive special pricing consideration from ProSight due to the improved risk profile that comes from experience, skill, and professionalism of ETCP certification.
