AVA Represents AvolitesGroup One Ltd., the US distributor for Avolites, reports that Audio Video Associates (AVA), Inc. has been named its newest independent manufacturers rep firm. The announcement comes from Group One's Brad White, national sales manager for Avolites, to whom the firm reports. Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, with satellite offices in Kansas City and St. Joseph, AVA was founded in 1997 by Ben Shipman and now represents Avolites in Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and southern Illinois. Prior to this, the firm serviced many of Group One's other lines -- including DiGiCo, XTA, MC2, ElektraLite, and Pulsar -- all of which it continues to retain. "I believe that manufacturers tend to underestimate the Nebraska and Missouri territories," says White. "With such a large area, it is crucial to have a rep firm willing to actually go the distance and cover the ground. AVA has great relationships established at every company and supplier -- large and small -- in its region and is already providing great on-the-ground sales support for us." Shipman, himself, adds, "Avo has long been respected as one of the leading live production lighting controllers, and when the opportunity came up for us to represent the brand, we could not let it get away! Erich Uhlhorn joined AVA at the end of 2012 to focus specifically on our lighting lines and he is quickly getting up to speed with Avo, which is the perfect complement to the rest of our professional sound, lighting, and video manufacturers."
