J.R. Clancy Acquired by Wenger Corp.

J.R. Clancy and Wenger Corporation have joined forces. Clancy acquired by Wenger, based in Owatonna, Minnesota. The plan is Clancy to remain an autonomous subsidiary, still based in Syracuse, New York

.

In a statement, Clancy said, "Wenger and Clancy are strong, longstanding, privately owned businesses with shared values, dedicated and loyal associates, great brands, and great reputations in the marketplace.

"Wenger is a name you may know: an international designer and manufacturer of specialized equipment and solutions for music education, performing arts, and related markets. They provide high quality acoustical products, music chairs, staging and risers, stands, storage products, fixed audience seating and orchestra pit fillers for schools or performing arts centers."

The businesses intend to run as complementary entities with Mike Murphy and Bob Theis continuing at Clancy.

Theis said, "Clearly, we anticipate that each business will benefit. Together, Clancy and Wenger will have broader depth and breadth in our product offerings. We'll be able to share resources and use them to develop new markets, which will mean new opportunities."
