Olivier Awards Nominations Announced

The Olivier Awards nominations were announced March 9. The ceremony, honoring London theatre, will be held at the Royal Opera House on April 12. Memphis The Musical and Beautiful -- The Carole King Musical currently lead the nominations, and are also faring well in the design categories with three nominations each in the following categories -- Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design, and an Autograph Sound Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music. For Memphis, the nominees are Gareth Owen (Sound), Paul Tazewell (Costume), and David Bryan, Joe DiPietro and Tim Sutton (the Autograph Sound Award). The nominees for Beautiful are Brian Ronan (Sound), Alejo Vietti (Costume), and The Orchestra (Autograph Sound Award).

Paule Constable and David Plater, Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies
Howard Harrison, City Of Angels

Best Costume Design
Rob Jones, City Of Angels
Christopher Oram, Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies

XL Video Award for Best Set Design
Bunny Christie, Made In Dagenham
Es Devlin, The Nether
Rob Jones for City Of Angels
Jan Versweyveld, A View From A Bridge

Autograph Sound Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music
David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, Here Lies Love
