AFMG Announces EASE Seminars 2012

After sold-out seminars in 2011, AFMG publishes the 2012 schedule of trainings for EASE. EASE is the simulation package for room acoustics and loudspeaker systems that has been setting the industry standard for over 20 years, the company says. Training will be offered at AFMG's Berlin headquarters in spring and fall. International dates will take place in Dubai, accompanying the PALM fair, and in Wroclaw (Breslau), Poland. These EASE User seminars will be supplemented by a Sound System Design seminar for audio consultants. Included will be topics on digitally steerable loudspeakers as well as audio networks. Additionally, AFMG will offer a two-day course for professionals and loudspeaker manufacturers addressing the topic of loudspeaker data acquisition and evaluation with EASE SpeakerLab and its usage for GLL data generation for line arrays.

All seminars are intended for an international audience of consultants, engineers, system integrators, and other audio and acoustics professionals and will be held in English.

EASE seminars are split into two levels. Each level can be booked separately. Level 1 is directed at entry-level users of EASE and gives a highly compressed, three-day introduction into the fundamentals of acoustical modeling and the usage of EASE. Level 2 builds upon the knowledge gained in the first level; users who would like to attend only Level 2 should have sufficient experience with EASE. Level 2 will cover the theory of GLL loudspeaker data, simulating line arrays, and other complex sources. It will also compare and evaluate different simulation approaches like raytracing and AURA and take participants all the way up to binaural auralizations.

Apart from the full-fledged seminars in Berlin and Dubai, the two-day training in Wroclaw (Breslau), Poland is also offered. Renowned acoustician, Dr. Pawel Dziechcinski, will address users of EASE JR in a dedicated seminar covering fundamentals of acoustical simulation, modeling, and correctly interpreting simulation results. This course will be held in Polish language.

For consultants who are frequently confronted with complex projects involving steerable loudspeakers and large audio networks or who want to upgrade their knowledge in these areas, AFMG's Sound System Design seminar is the ideal opportunity to get first-hand information. Three days of intense, high-level information, combined with relevant application examples by Emad El-Saghir with the chance to get an in-depth look at different products in demonstrational setups.

EASE SpeakerLab and GLL-Data seminar will cover loudspeakers' relevant characteristics incorporating everything from high-resolution measurement data of magnitude and phase, filters, cabinet sizes, and rigging information, all the way to dynamic, user-interactive control of DSP settings. The GLL format enables loudspeaker manufacturers and advanced EASE users to flexibly model almost any given sound source to be used in all of AFMG's simulation programs. This seminar explains the GLL theory and how to effectively use EASE SpeakerLab to enhance the design process and deliver loudspeaker data to customers and to the EASE community. It also covers special functions like 70V/100V system settings, configurable line arrays and interactive DLLs.
