CrewBrain Adds Training with Knowledge Checks to Crew Planning

In its latest update, CrewBrain GmbH, the maker of crew management software, extends its crew and resource planning software by adding an integrated training module, including knowledge checks. Companies can use it to create their own training courses, assign them to staff, and centrally track who has already completed which content.

Whether a general safety briefing, data protection, compliance topics, or phishing awareness, employers should train staff regularly; in some cases, they are legally required to do so. In the events industry, with workers booked at short notice, freelancers, and constantly changing venues, organizing and documenting briefings without gaps takes considerable effort.

"Safety has always been a key topic for us -- whether when deploying external workers or when actually carrying out the work," explains Eva Pennekamp, head of sales at CrewBrain GmbH. "Many of our customers already use the digital risk assessment in CrewBrain. With training, we are taking the next step: the briefing reaches staff exactly where they already see their assignments, and the result is documented immediately."

Each training course consists of an introductory text and any number of content items, such as PDF documents or videos, which can be divided into several chapters. Those responsible can see at any time who has already completed a course, who still has it outstanding, and when it needs to be repeated. Repetition intervals, due dates, and automatic reminders help to keep track even in large teams.

In addition, each course ends with a knowledge check. Companies set up questions, from which CrewBrain selects a predefined number. Questions with several correct answers are also possible. At the end, participants receive an evaluation and see immediately whether they have reached the defined pass mark. The result is stored in CrewBrain automatically.

Training courses are available in the browser and CrewBrain app. This means staff can work through assigned content directly on their smartphones, regardless of whether they are in the office, on a production, or at a changing venue. Training courses can optionally be fully translated into any number of languages.

"Crew planning doesn't end with the question of who is available when," explains Sven Schlotthauer, managing director of CrewBrain GmbH. "With the training feature, we bring scheduling, qualification management and further training together in one platform. Safety briefings no longer have to be organized in separate systems or on paper lists."

With the update, the new project and job dialogue, tested in open Beta since May, is available to all users. It always shows the complete project structure, offers new planning views in which scheduling can be done directly, and brings all contracts -- from personnel leasing documents to service contracts -- together in a separate view. New features include improvements to the iCal subscription and to billing. In addition, CrewBrain is now also available in Dutch, Danish, and Polish.

The update will be available to all CrewBrain customers from October 16. The training feature can be booked as an extension in all plans.

CrewBrain is also consistently expanding its platform in the field of artificial intelligence: since August, CrewBee, an AI assistant deeply integrated into the software, has been available to answer questions about existing data, analyze projects and carry out multi-step tasks directly from the chat.
