EVEN Opens Applications for Lighting Technician Apprenticeships in California

EVEN, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit creating paid apprenticeships in the live events industry, has opened applications for its next cohort of lighting technicians in the state of California.

The Events Vocational Education Network (EVEN, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that seeks to transform the backstage industry by building a sustainable career pipeline to strengthen the live events industry and provide resources to aspiring professionals from all walks of life.

EVEN's Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is both federally and state-recognized and offers paid employment during a vocational training period lasting 12 to 18 months with leading industry companies. This "on the job" training is supplemented by additional related training to provide the best possible skill set for successful applicants as they begin their careers.

Alongside the training, each apprentice partners with a mentor from the industry, creating the opportunity to increase knowledge, connections and guidance through the process.

The application period is open now through August 10, with interviews taking place later in August.

An applicant guide with more information is available at theevennetwork.org/s/Applicant-Guide_72426.pdf, and the actual application can be found at theevennetwork.org/apply.
