ILC Continues Gear Acquisition Strategy

Throughout the month of April, has made continued investment in equipment inventory and added state of the art lighting and control products to the company's line.

The Martin by Harman Mac Aura XB continues to be an extremely in-demand luminaire. This compact midsize wash fixture is versatile in both output and function. In the first quarter of 2016, ILC took delivery of over 100 Mac Aura XB units. In April, that investment continued with a purchase of another 120 units. ILC now has one of the largest fleets of Mac Aura XB's in the Midwest US.

The company notes, in the production environment, quality and redundancy of data is extremely important. Projects are getting larger with more fixtures utilizing more channels of control. Copper front-of-house snakes are becoming obsolete. ILC's purchase of TMB EZ-LAN Unity Switches and ProPlex Fiber with OpticalCON connectors provide an optical link between console and back-of-house networking. To streamline this, ILC has added additional MA Lighting NPU units in a standardized rack configuration, configured with onboard UPS, opto-splitters, and switches in a shock mount rack that takes less truck space. Racks are pre-configured and arrive on show site ready to plug in. This clean package offers greater distances for FOH and faster data throughput. The company says "Customers can expect state of the art data processing and networking equipment from ILC."

Since January, ILC has made a significant investment in GT Truss from Tyler Truss. GT offers a very flexible pre-rigged solution for intelligent lighting fixtures while reducing costly site labor to rig fixtures and reducing the drayage costs of empty road cases in convention center venues. ILC has added additional 10' GT truss sections along with corner blocks and other accessories. This provides the ability to service more customers with the cost-saving efficiencies of GT Truss.

Power Distribution is mission critical for successful events. In April, ILC placed orders with Lex Products for 48-way and 24-way PowerRACK distribution systems. The 24-way versions are unique in their removable caster plate and the ability to directly mount these systems to truss. Included in each 24-way rack is a TMB 1x8 opto-splitter to add additional versatility on show site.

This significant investment in technology is a move that the company says "continues to position ILC as the leading production company in the Midwest United States."

ILC's fifth annual Behid the Scenes Charity Golf Outing will be held July 21 at White Pines Golf Club. See the URL below for more information.
