Raising Cain and Fundraising for the NSCA Education Foundation: Drunk Unkles Hit the $ 1 Million Mark

Drunk Unkles

Join the NSCA Education Foundation and the Drunk Unkles on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at BB King's in Orlando for their 10th anniversary jam and sponsorship event supporting the systems integration industry. Doors open at 8:30pm. In its 10th year of support for the Foundation, the Drunk Unkles and the NSCA Education Foundation have raised close to $1 million through their yearly fundraiser. Donations from industry professionals, manufacturers, consultant firms, dealers, distributors, rep firms, and integrators have all contributed toward this milestone level. Funds raised enable the NSCA Education Foundation to build meaningful and impactful programs, offer scholarships, and provide training opportunities for both new professionals as well as industry veterans looking to expand their businesses.

Tickets for the event can be picked up at designated sponsor booths during InfoComm15 or can be downloaded after May 15 by visiting www.nsca.org/nsca-education-foundation or www.drunkunkles.com.

The Drunk Unkles began more than 10 years ago as a casual hobby. They performed their first charity fundraising event to help support the family of an industry peer who unexpectedly lost his life. Chuck Wilson, NSCA Education Foundation director, states, "Together with the Foundation, the Drunk Unkles have continued this tradition of supporting the industry and its members with free music jams at InfoComm for a decade. We are amazed by the generosity of their time and the response of the industry."

The Drunk Unkles performance, held each year, has continually grown to become one of the most popular must-attend events held during InfoComm week. This year's event, Dubbed "A Decade of Defiance," will be held at BB King's in Pointe Orlando. Record attendance is again expected for this 10th anniversary show.

Sponsors for the event this year include: AMX/Harman, SurgeX, Chief/Da-Lite, BARCO, Christie, FSR, Liberty AV Solutions, NEC, Sharp, Synnex, RPVisual Solutions, Cleerlite, West Penn Wire, Whitlock, Winsted, IVCI, Stewart Filmscreen, VSO/JBA, Lencore, Advanced AV, Audio Inc., AVI-SPL, BMG Hudson, Cardone, Solomon & Associates, Cerami & Associates, and Shen Milsom & Wilke. For more information on the Drunk Unkles, their upcoming events or sponsorship opportunities, contact Jodi Jacobs, marketing coordinator for the band and the NSCA Education Foundation, at jodi@crystalvisionmktg.com. For questions about NSCA's involvement with the event, contact Katie Chism at kchism@nsca.org or call 800-446-6722.
