SGA Announces New Hires

Pete Stevens, SGA

SGA, provider of staging and audience risers for corporate meetings and sporting events, recently named Peter Stevens as the new lead scenic to SGA's Scenic Paint Department, and Robert Scott Sodin has recently joined the SGA Production Services sales team in Las Vegas.

Stevens will add his artistic direction, training and experience to the ever expanding portfolio of SGA, which is also a provider of event drapery and stock scenic elements to the theme park and broadcast industries. Stevens grew up in the Adirondacks and studied Fine Arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He honed his skills in the Adirondacks; from high end award finishes, to corporate theatre, to many high visibility theme park projects. Stevens' work is present at Fenway Park, numerous PGA golf courses, Disney's Au Lani Resort in Hawaii, and throughout the major theme parks in Central Florida, California, and Singapore. In addition, he executed many of the scenic installations at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando. Stevens brings 15 years of experience in the paint and scenic industry to the SGA team.

Robert Scott Sodin, a 20 year event industry veteran, comes to SGA from MGM Resorts Event Productions where he ran the design and production departments from 2007 to 2014. During his time at MGM, Robert was able to expand these departments from 300 to 1,500 events per year.

Sodin grew up in Chicago and studied Design and Applied Arts at the Chicago Art Institute. He also studied Music Theory and Composition at the Musicians Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California. Sodin started his design and fabrication career at an early age working in his father's display shop. After finishing his education, he was drawn to Las Vegas, where he worked for Desert Designs as art director. Then he returned to Chicago and continued to work for large scale production houses, eventually running his own company from 2001 to 2005.
