Anderson Group International Upgrades Subwoofer System with Powersoft Amplifiers

Kyle Anderson, president of AIG.INC shows of his 1RU Powersoft K20 DSP+ETH amplifier that powers four Fulcrum Acoustics US221 subwoofers.

Kyle Anderson,, owner of Eugene, Oregon based Anderson Group International, Inc. (AGI.INC), regularly provides sound systems for national acts that perform in the region. Recently he decided to upgrade the low end of his system with an investment in four Fulcrum Acoustics US221 dual 21" subwoofers powered by a single Powersoft K20 DSP+ETH amplifier.

"The first couple of shows we did using the new subs and amplifier absolutely amazed our clients," Anderson explains. "It's hard to believe that a one rack unit can provide all of that power -- the K20 is really incredible."

The two-channel Powersoft K20 -- providing 2,700W/channel at 8 ohms, 5,200W /channel at 4 ohms and 9000 watts/channel at 2 ohms -- supplies ample headroom for the new subwoofer system. Equipped with the optional KDSP board that provides a suite of digital signal processing, the unit is further enhanced with the inclusion of the optional KAESOP Ethernet/AES3 interface. Together they offer sound shaping and system management remotely controllable via Powersoft Armonía Pro Audio Suite software.

"We wouldn't have used Powersoft if we didn't think it was better than anything else available," adds Anderson. "We plan on upgrading our monitor system next and will be using Powersoft amplifiers there, too."

In addition to national acts, AGI.INC works with various Christian artists at a local level as well as providing sound production for regional festivals and corporate events.

Anderson concludes, "The incredible thing is how many amps you don't need when using Powersoft -- I'm looking forward to throwing away racks. Who knows? Maybe I can even downsize my truck."
