PLASA Focus: Austin 2012 and PLASA Focus: Tech - Exhibitor List Grows Fast as Floor Plan is Unveiled

The PLASA Focus: Austin 2012 floor plan is now live. From today, participating companies and a full program of events can be found alongside visitor registration facilities and exhibitor application information on the show's website.

The two-day event, to be held February 22-23, 2012 at the Renaissance Austin, Texas, is the first of a new style of regional event for North America. Based on the successful PLASA Focus events in Europe, the new regional model seeks to bring world-class professional knowledge and high-profile exhibitors to the heart of beautiful Texas hill country.

Confirmed exhibitors include ETC, Arri, GDS, Robe, Rosco, CommuniLux Productions, GLP German Light Products, Daktronics Rigging, Clay Paky, Total Structures, High End Systems, Chauvet, Philips Color Kinetics, A.C.T Lighting, Doug Fleenor Design, Strong Entertainment Lighting, and Secoa, with many more applications being processed.

Visitors should register for free online to receive regular updates and major show announcements in the weeks ahead. Exhibitors can fill out the online application form for space and, anybody attending the LDI trade show in Orlando, is invited to come and talk to a member of the PLASA team on PLASA booth 1145.

In addition, PLASA Focus: Tech is a 3-4 day course of live event production training ending in a live concert which sees the students run the show. Taking place February 19-22, alongside the exhibition at the Austin Renaissance Hotel, aspiring lighting designers, front of house engineers and video designers will develop the skills needed to design their own lighting looks, video content, or audio mix. See it come to life in a live concert, featuring Devon Allman and Honeytribe, and attended by PLASA Focus visitors and exhibitors. As an added bonus, a competition will be held for best design, with the winner receiving a one-year WYSIWYG license worth $1150, donated by Cast Software.
