GDS LiteWare Transforms New York Sidewalk for Breitling VIP Event Luxury Swiss watchmaker Breitling recently hosted a VIP event for the grand opening of its flagship store. The event, organized by the global marketing and PR agency Centigrade, saw a host of celebrities and Breitling enthusiasts come together to celebrate the launch of its New York boutique. The 4,500-sq.-ft. store is located a stone's throw from Fifth Avenue and showcases over 900 timepieces. Three hundred specially selected guests, including brand ambassadors John Travolta and Wayne Gretzky, as well as hockey player Mark Streit and NFL star and broadcaster Boomer Esiason, attended the event in Manhattan on January 15. The sidewalk outside of the new boutique was transformed in to a VIP reception area. A truss structure provided by PRG was erected housing a red-carpet area for staff to meet and greet VIP guests and the media. GDS LiteWare UL wireless battery uplighters were incorporated in to the design of the structure and played a key part in transforming a chilly New York sidewalk in to a stylish reception. GDS LiteWare UL fittings were used as a light source and to provide color-changing light. LiteWare UL is a battery powered RGB uplighter with wireless DMX control, it is a stand-alone controllable light-source with up to 24 hours battery life, the cableless fittings allowed PRG quick and easy installation and set-up without the additional problem of running cables in the snow and LiteWare's aluminum case provided a sleek and clean look. The fittings were supplied to PRG by TechnoLite. GDS LiteWare is distributed in North America by A.C.T Lighting. Julie Barnard, president of Centigrade Inc. US, commented; "The light fixtures worked really well for us, we wanted a clean look and didn't want to run power cables outside in the snow. The fittings looked great and gave us the flexibility to change color as needed." LiteWare is available in UL (40W) or HO (80W) and is a flexible lighting solution for any event. IP45 rated for internal or external use, W-DMX or SHoW DMX controlled, this adaptable fitting can be used as a stand-alone unit charged by an individual power-supply, multiple fittings can be charged in LiteWare's custom four- or six-way charging flightcase.
