Barco's New Event Master Controller Enables Faster Show Programming

Barco, a provider of image processing technology, announces the release the EC-200, a full-sized hardware controller that's part of its Event Master series of screen management systems. Thanks to its new syntax-based programming, the EC-200 offers easier and faster show programming. The EC-200 event controller will be shipping from mid-February.

"Following the many industry reviews we got on our E2 and S3-4K screen management systems and EC-50 controller, we're happy to announce that our successful Event Master range is growing," comments Chris Colpaert, VP image processing at Barco. "Consisting of screen management systems, controllers, and media servers, our image processing portfolio includes the right tools for every step in the creative process -- from handling content, to managing sources and distributing signals. This enables our rental customers to simply pick and choose the right Barco products they need to meet their specific show requirements."

The EC-200 leverages the ease of use of its smaller brother, the EC-50 event controller, while adding a new syntax-based programming methodology that accelerates programming, offers immediate access to system resources, and streamlines show programming in a way that's unique to the Event Master system. Redefining the way screen management is handled for large events, this new syntax-style programming greatly simplifies and speeds the operator's job.

Compatible with both the S3-4K and E2 Event Master processors, the EC-200 is a stand-alone controller featuring a Linux-based operating system and a built-in central processing unit (CPU). It brings the ability to have source, preset, layer, and destination selection at the user's fingertips, along with a trackball, dedicated programming section, and two touchscreen displays. The EC-200 also provides instant access to switch sources live on program, and enables users to select large groups of resources at the same time, and manipulate layers like never before.

The EC-200 gives users greater situational awareness and worry-free operation by enabling them to check more information simultaneously and know precisely what will happen next. The controller is the perfect tool for a wide range of shows -- from a trade show booth, to a large corporate event, even for the largest music tours.

Discover the EC-200 at the ISE trade show, RAI Amsterdam, The Netherlands, February 9 - 12. Barco is exhibiting at hall 11, booth F100.
