American Audio to Launch New Products at NAMM

The SenSeries of loudspeakers

At NAMM, January 19-22, in Anaheim, California, American Audio will unveil a new series of concert-quality German-engineered professional speakers, the SenSeries, as well as an extremely lightweight and affordable power amplifier line, the XLT Series. "Both our new SenSeries speakers and XLT amps fill niches in the pro sound marketplace, and offer solutions that end-users have told us they're looking for," said Tom Freret, national sales manager for American Audio. "That's why we are so excited about introducing these products at NAMM."

The company will also take the wraps off the Traktor version of its VMS4 MIDI work station, which features four selectable MIDILOG (MIDI or analog) channels. The new VMS4 Traktor comes bundled with Traktor DJ software, and features a new faceplate that's been specially designed for compatibility with Traktor.

The company says that SenSeries speakers produce concert-quality sound, yet are flexible and compact enough to be used in venues where space and design present challenges. The series includes three different size speakers -- Sense 8 (8" woofer), Sense 12 (12" woofer) and Sense 15 (15" woofer) -- plus two matching subwoofers --Sense 15B and Sense 18B. The speakers have passive crossovers that are fine-tuned for optimum acoustics and excellent dynamics, and have been developed using complex frequency curves and delays, the company says. Their HF cabinets feature an asymmetric design that allows for both front-of-house and monitor usage. They utilize a proprietary rotatable horn design with a wide-dispersion range that brings crisp-sounding audio to the far reaches of any venue. Thanks to their compact build and convenient M10 fly pints, the company says the SenSeries Speakers can be installed quickly and easily, even in hard-to-reach spots. Since each full-range speaker has a 40-degree monitor cut, they are suitable for the stage floor as well.

American Audio's XLT amplifiers are billed as featuringan advanced design technology that makes them lighter in weight than traditional amps - and great for use on the road. There are four models in the series, ranging in weight 16-26lbs. All XLT models offer such features as a low cut filter, input sensitivity selector, stereo or mono operation, and front panel level LED meters.
