PixelRange Takes SmartRange to PLASA's Shoot Out

PixelRange reports that, in addition to its presence on the stand of master European distributor, A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd., the company will also showcase its new SmartRange of intelligent LED fixtures at the STLD-hosted LED shootout, which is a feature of this year's PLASA Show (September 11-14, Earls Court, London).

The Society of Television Lighting Designers (STLD) has arranged a 2,583 sq. ft. space where LED lighting fixtures can be directly compared across three different areas. The first lighting shootout area features a specially built 26'-wide cyclorama, the second a practical hands-on mini TV studio, and the third section is a lecture and presentation theatre where LED fixtures from different categories are compared side-by-side with their traditional tungsten or discharge equivalent.

PixelRange will demonstrate three newly released lighting fixtures: QPar, PixelSmart and SmartLine 6.

QPar Follows hard in the footsteps of the ubiquitous PixelRange PixelPar. A fully-programmable, plug-and-play, color-mixing LED wash fixture, QPar takes the integrity of PixelPar to a new level of power and performance, the company says.

QPar features 12 high-intensity, quad color, RGBW Cree LEDs, ensuring exceptional color as well as color-washing capabilities with a completely homogenized light source, the company says. Accessing a vast color spectrum, QPar creates pretty pastels or deep saturated hues. QPar features a 10-degree beam angle as standard via a toughened glass front lens though further light-shaping diffusing lenses are available to provide variation. A choice of dimming curves includes tungsten, television and fine.

PixelSmart was the first product from PixelRange that pioneered a new wave in intelligent lighting. Not only is PixelSmart a veritable workhorse fixture able to light at 15-degrees, as a wash or a par can, it's also a dark horse, offering eye candy in abundance, the company says.

The unit comprises 13 Cree XPG warm white LEDs alongside 12 CREE MCE Quad LEDs in RGBW to give the advantage not only of a vast spectrum color palette - with a huge choice of both vivid saturates and subtle pastel colors - but uniquely, a choice of whites: brilliantly cool (XPE) white or golden warm (XPG) white, the company says.

PixelSmart's LED configuration gives a total of 61 channels; each one is individually addressable, so each color of each LED can be controlled in any combination at a given time. PixelSmart also features 40 internal chase effects programmable in two channels.

The newest addition to the range and measuring a slender 6' by 50mm, the SmartLine 6 LED wash fixture assures instantaneous color mixing across its length, via the 36 individually addressable, CREE MCE quad LEDs. SmartLine, which can be stacked either horizontally or vertically with no change to the pitch of the LEDs, is fitted with a 20 degree beam angle as standard, though other light-shaping diffusing lenses are available to vary the output beam.
