Stage|Set|Scenery Is Attracting Increasing International Attention

Featuring exhibitors from 24 countries and trade visitors from 58 countries the first edition of Stage|Set|Scenery immediately attracted worldwide attention in June 2015. The next event in 2017 aims to build on that success.

In its effort to achieve an even greater international appeal Stage|Set|Scenery, an international trade show and conference for theatre, film, and event technology, is able to rely on Messe Berlin's network of 85 foreign representatives in 150 countries, while the trade show team also participates in international industry events all over the world.

Furthermore, the involvement of associations partnering with Deutsche Theatertechnische Gesellschaft (DTHG), the non-commercial sponsors of Stage|Set|Scenery, also guarantees further international attention. To date the International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects, and Technicians (OISTAT) and national associations from China (CETA) the Netherlands (VPT), Austria (OETHG), Spain (OISTAT España), and the USA (USITT) have secured individual stands at Stage|Set|Scenery 2017. Also taking part in 2017 will be OISTAT from Finland and TATT from Taiwan, associations which are partners of DTHG.

More international attention is assured following the recently agreed partnership with Gesellschaft der Kostümschaffenden (GTKos), which represents the interests of the costume-making profession in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The three-day costume-makers' conference due to take place at the Palais am Funkturm will also broaden Stage|Set|Scenery's range of products and services.

National associations including Verband Deutscher Tonmeister (vdt), Bund der Szenografen, Genossenschaft Deutscher Bühnen-Angehöriger (GDBA), the Association of Professional Wireless Production Technologies (APWPT), and Interessengemeinschaft Veranstaltungswirtschaft (igvw) will also be represented at the show in large numbers. Preparations are currently under way to seal further partnerships at national and international level.

Representatives of all the above associations will be available for questions from trade visitors on their individual stands in Hall 22. In 2017 the conference program will feature a number of roundtable discussions and lectures. Among the topics will be international training qualifications and the issue of aligning technical standards. Participants will have an opportunity to exchange ideas at international level and discuss concrete approaches for cross-border cooperation.
