Cadac Appoints UK Sales Manager and Takes UK Distribution In-House

Rob Hughes, newly appointed Cadac UK sales manager

Cadac announced the appointment of Rob Hughes as UK sales manager at Prolight + Sound, with immediate effect. At the same time the company revealed it was establishing its own UK distribution with a select dealer network.

Speaking on the company's stand at Prolight + Sound, Hughes said, "I am very excited to be joining such an iconic British brand as Cadac, with a great heritage of designing and manufacturing fantastic products over its long history. I am especially proud to be joining a fantastic team of people at the company, and am confident of their taking it forward and regaining its rightful place at the very top of the market. With that in mind, I am particularly looking forward to being involved with the success of the new range of digital products."

Hughes career began as a freelance front-of-house engineer, working for the likes of Tourco, and SSE on numerous tours and festivals, including Reading, "V" Fest, Download, and T in the Park. He subsequently joined SSE as a project manager, before moving to Shuttlesound in 2008, as Midas and Klark Teknik UK sales consultant, a position he retained when Midas KT established its own UK sales operation. He joins Cadac from Midas KT, where he was latterly technical support manager, having rejoined the company after a brief stint with Studer.

Commenting on the appointment, brand development manager, Richard Farriday, stated, "I'm absolutely thrilled that Rob has chosen to join us. Rob knows everyone and anyone in the UK concert/touring community. Engineers, system techs, and rental company owners all respect his knowledge and experience, and it is great for Cadac to have such expertise on board."

From April 1, 2014, Cadac is bringing its UK distribution in-house. This move is to facilitate closer relationships with UK customers and will result in faster product development from user feedback, and improved technical support, direct from the factory. Hughes will oversee the UK operation and will be working out of a new Cadac marketing and demo facility in Stourport, Worcestershire. Commenting on the development, Ferriday further stated, "The UK market, despite its modest size, is hugely influential on a global scale. It is our intention to expand upon Cadac's reputation and heritage as one of the great brands in our industry, and to this end we need to be very close to our customers in key international locations. Bringing UK distribution in-house is the first step. Further developments will be announced soon."

Hughes can be contacted at rob@cadac-sound.com or on +44 7867 368021.
