PLASA Focus Glasgow 2017 Attracts International Brands and a Collaboration with BBC Scotland

Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow

PLASA Focus Glasgow has announced its final program of events, including support from the BBC who will provide a unique opportunity to visit the BBC Scotland production facility. PLASA Focus Glasgow -- Scotland's sole entertainment technology show -- returns to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center (SECC) on January 18 - 19, 2017.

John Carmichael, BBC radio operations manager for Scotland, will host a tour of the studio for the Quay Sessions, a live music program recorded in front of an audience, including a run-through of the state-of-the-art studio technology in use. The studio is in the BBC Scotland production facility at Pacific Quay, just a few minutes' walk from the SECC.

Other highlights on the Glasgow program include a networking event at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, who will host a drinks reception and technical tours. Seminar sessions promise to educate, inform, and inspire, including sessions by the Association of Lighting Designers, business advice from the Department for Trade and Investment, and the ever-popular Riggers Forum [sponsored by UK Rigging] once again hosted by Harry Box, UK Rigging, and Chris Higgs, Total Training.

At the heart of the show will be over 80 renowned brands, showcasing the latest technology, hosting exclusive product launches and sharing their expertise on the show floor. Highlights include audio manufacturer RCF's UK debut of the new TT45-CXA stage monitor; The Warehouse Sound Services will be showing Adamson's new S10 sub compact line array system; Chroma-Q will launch their latest and brightest lighting fixture Color One 100X; and following on from the international launch at the PLASA Show, Robe will showcase the Spiider, the next generation of super-bright LED light.

Hands on product training will be delivered on both days, including MA Lighting dot2 lighting console training from Ambersphere Solutions, as well as an introduction to MagicQ, MagicVis, and MagicHD from ChamSys. Production services supplier Adlib will host a demo room to demonstrate the latest technical solutions by Martin Professional and L-Acoustics.

Christopher Toulmin, director of PLASA Events adds, "The 2017 edition of PLASA Focus Glasgow is looking to be a very successful show, with many of the industry's biggest international brands on the show floor. We are delighted to partner with such renowned organizations, including the BBC and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, to offer really valuable opportunities to our Scottish audience."

"The Scottish live events sector is going from strength to strength with the support of the Scottish Government and VisitScotland, and at PLASA we are proud to deliver the only show dedicated to the industry in the region."

Running alongside the show, the AV User Group regional meeting, lunch, and networking drinks will take place at SECC Glasgow on Thursday, January 19, 2017. While it is a member's event, all AV professionals are welcome to attend providing they sign up to the AV User Group.
