Studio Gear Expands Offerings For 2013

Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Studio Gear is a rental, installation, and sales company offering audio, video, and lighting equipment. The company has recently expanded their equipment with new purchases. The audio department expanded its offerings of digital audio devices, recently adding Shure ULDX microphones and the Allen & Heath GLD - 80 mixing console. Studio Gear also expanded their JBL inventory, and added on to their JBL VerTec system. Larger expansion was seen in the video division, with the addition of Panasonic PT - DZ 21k DLP projectors and an inventory increase of Christie Roadster HD10ks. "The Panasonic 21k allows us to offer our customers lightweight, cost effective, and quiet DLP projection," says Liam O'Callaghan. Studio Gear also added to their video switcher inventory, adding the Vista Systems Spyder X - 20 and the full line of Analog Way switchers. "Staying within the Analog Way line was important because we are able to offer our customers consistency of operation. The interface is universal across the product line," says O'Callaghan.

The largest growth has been within the lighting department. Studio Gear now offers the full High End Systems product line to their clients, including the new Hog4 console. Mike Atkins, a lighting specialist at Studio Gear, said "When we started looking at expansion we spoke to several companies, and High End Systems was the company we felt most comfortable with. Customer service is extremely important to us, and they care about our customers as much as we do." Additionally, Studio Gear will be offering training classes on the new Hog4 console periodically throughout 2013, the first of which is set to be in conjunction with the USITT conference in March.

Studio Gear recently joined USITT as a sustaining member and will be exhibiting their new products at the Stage Expo March 20-23. "Becoming a part of USITT is exciting for us because not only can we show our customers the new gear in action, we also get to be a part of training the next generation of technicians," says Atkins.
