Professional Wireless Systems Takes on Intercom, RF Coordination for Biggest Rock Band on EarthProfessional Wireless Systems (PWS) was on-site at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, where Rockin'1000, the biggest rock band on earth, took the stage for its US debut, featuring 1,000 musicians across guitar, bass, drums, keys, and vocals. The one-night concert event, held in late January, also featured a special tribute to New Orleans, with the addition of a dedicated horns section to honor the city's rich musical heritage. As the official onsite RF coordinators, PWS managed frequencies for all wireless microphones, interruptible foldback, and in-ear monitors for this year's event. In addition, the company supplied and operated 40 Riedel Bolero intercom beltpacks with full coverage of the Superdome. Riedel RSP-1232 smart panels were also deployed for stationary production staff. A network of Luminex switches connected by fiber was set up to facilitate the AES67 traffic with the Riedel Artist frame. This enabled the audio and lighting departments, as well as the producers of the event, to have flawless backstage and front-of-house communications.
