Rose Brand Inc. Releases Data on Projection Testing for Over 50 Materials

Rose Brand Inc. is continuously adding additional resources for its customers to use. One of the newest additions to its list of technical data is the Rose Brand Guide to Projection Materials. The downloadable guide serves as a tool to help customers choose the best projection material for their production. Customers can easily get overwhelmed with the large number of options available. The new guide aims to eliminate the guess work for those looking to choose between materials based on performance.

Test results are available on projection materials including premium projection screens: Series 100 and 200, projection fabrics, projection effect fabrics, Rosco projection screens, and Screen Goo. Fabrics tested in the projection effect fabrics are best suited for more abstract lighting effects.

Projection has become a staple in performance, integrating seamlessly with scenic and lighting design. As technology becomes more easily accessible, the use of projection has been cropping up more frequently in venues of all types. Rose Brand sales staff designs projections screens for venues of all different types from major concert halls to theatres to schools to houses of worship.

Charts focus on gain/viewing angle. The published guide warns, "gain/viewing angle is only one of many factors to consider when selecting a projection surface." However, this tool levels the playing field, allowing customers to more easily compare apples to apples when evaluating different materials.

The full guide is available for download at http://bit.ly/rbprojection. Individual charts for materials are also available on each product page. Specifics about projector settings, mounting procedures, throw distance, and other projection settings can be found in the guide.

For information about custom screen development, pricing, questions, or samples customers should contact Rose Brand Sales at 800-223-1624 or customerservice@rosebrand.com. With the exception of Screen Goo, which is paintable, all materials studied in the guide are available for purchase by the yard or as a finished product.
