Stage Technologies Sponsors Prague Quadrennial

The Stage Technologies Group has announced its silver sponsorship of the British Architecture Exhibit at The Prague Quadrennial 2011 in conjunction with the ABTT.

The event takes place from June 16-26 in Prague, and is the premier international showcase for scenic design and theatre architecture, attracting theatre professionals from all around the world.

The British Architecture Exhibit is being coordinated and curated by Tim Foster and Iain Mackintosh. It will be a proud celebration of The Guthrie Legacy, tracing the development of the Guthrie thrust stage from that initial appearance at The Edinburgh Assembly Hall in 1948, through to the newly completed Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2011. This development will be explored through five specially commissioned same-scale 3D architectural models of The Edinburgh Assembly Hall, The Festival Theatre in Stratford, Ontario, The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, The Globe Theatre in London and The Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Delstar Engineering, part of the Stage Technologies Group, was responsible for the stage floor and all understage engineering at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, completed in December last year. Their work included the steelwork support for the stage and the lift shafts, the scenery lift and modular elements of the thrust stage. The lift system includes Stage Technologies SIL3 control.
