PR Lighting's Prolight + Sound Commitment Reaps Rich Rewards

The PR Lighting light show and gobo projections at Prolight + Sound.

PR Lighting enjoyed one of its most successful European outings ever at this year's Prolight + Sound show in Frankfurt last week, where it presented seven new products.

The Chinese manufacturer also brought a team of 12 sales and marketing support staff from China, and with a dedicated light show booth running adjacent to that of their German distributors, Focon Showtechnic, the company was able to demonstrate their "magnificent seven" -- the XLED 1061, XLED 3007, XLED 3019, XR130 (in Spot and Beam versions), XR330 Spot, XR1000 Framing, and XRLED 700 Spot -- as well as other popular catalog items.

Visitors were able to engage directly with these, and control beam aperture, color, and gobo patterns, via the ChamSys touch panel interface on the fixtures -- which proved extremely popular. A purpose-designed large white plinth was built under the overhead lighting truss so that the library of gobo effects could be clearly displayed and demonstrated to all attendees.

According to sales director, Ernie Armas, "This year more than lived up to our expectations -- it was a phenomenal show. The turn out was unbelievable, and everyone responded with enthusiasm. We were in constant demand and had the chance to meet existing and new customers from all around the world." He was also full of praise for ChamSys "for their great work in designing these interfaces."

This was in no small part due to the imaginative design and high impact of the fixtures themselves. "The products were very well showcased, and among the most popular were the XR 1000 series (Spot and Framing), XR 130 Spot and Beam, and XR 330 Spot," Armas reports. "The XLED Series caused particular interest because of its high brightness and features."

Also impressed by PR Lighting's presentation was product manager at Focon, Jens Ottenhus -- who has done much to boost the Chinese brand's profile in the German market. "We are seeing more and more interest from the German market -- largely because of the company's portfolio, one of the most extensive of all moving light manufacturers," he said. "For example the XRLED 3007 is a great matrix washlight with zoom and the XR 1000 Framing is creating a big demand from operas. Of the other new fixtures, the XRLED Series -- XRLED 700 and XRLED 1200 -- proved great eye catchers for the German customers."

In summary he said, "ProLight + Sound is the best forum to present the latest innovations and PR Lighting took full advantage. This is why we are getting more and more enquiries from the rental staging and opera sectors."

"Customers today are increasingly searching for LED spots that display durability and low power consumption within a compact footprint," he concluded.
