HICON Presents New Three-Pin XLR Connector from Alp-Line Series

For easy identification in complex cabling systems, the connectors are equipped with orange-colored rings as standard.

With the new Alp-Line XLR Series, HICON, part of Sommer Cable, presents the result of its German-Austrian joint project in connection technology: professional three-pin XLR connectors (female: HI-X3CFA-NXT / male: HI-X3CMA-NXT) with genuine gold-plated contacts in, the company says, the highest quality workmanship for optimum signal transmission. The metal housing is billed as ensuring increased durability; other features include a black silk matt finish and a slim ergonomic design.

The special clamping chuck design of the connectors provides a decent pull-out force and facilitates installation, the company says. At the end of the connector, a flexible plastic cap with integrated kink protection effectively protects the cable from bending stress. Thanks to its rib structure, the cap can be fitted quickly and easily without any additional tools.

For easy identification in complex cabling systems, the connectors are equipped with orange-colored rings as standard; a black replacement ring for alternative markings is included in the scope of delivery. The connectors are delivered in environmentally friendly packaging that is completely free of plastic.

The connectors are suitable for cables with a diameter of 3.0mm to 8.0mm. Sommer cable has developed the matching DMX cable SC-Binary 225 (art. no. 510-0051), which, together with the new connectors, makes the ready-to-use DMX-AES/EBU Alpine cable of the new BERG Series (three-pin). This combination is ideal for ambitious lighting riggers and event professionals who need to rely on their equipment even at lofty heights, the company says.
