Quebec's Le Groupe Spectre Sonore Acquires MA Lighting's dot2 XL-F Consoles for Its Rental Inventory

MA Lighting's dot2 XL-F console

Quebec-based Le Groupe Spectre Sonore (www.sprectrsonore.com) announces that it has added MA Lighting dot2 XL-F consoles to its rental inventory, which includes MA Lighting products to meet all customer needs. The company maintains an extensive inventory of cutting-edge technology and offers sound, lighting, and multimedia rentals, sales, and installation for concerts and corporate events across Canada.

Part of MA Lighting's range of compact dot2 consoles, the dot2 XL-F is designed for small to medium-sized productions with up to 4,096 control channels. The dot2 XL-F is a dot2 core console with a dot2 F-wing built-in. It includes a full programming section, master playback section, 14 fader playbacks, and 28 individual playback buttons. Three built-in touch screens and support for one external touch screen ensure the dot2 XL-F has the flexible hardware required for almost any kind of show. ACT Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of MA Lighting products in North America.

"The main goal of this console is to offer not necessarily more horsepower but more flexibility to our clients and crews," says Stephane Morin, president at Le Groupe Spectre Sonore.

"There's been a demand in the market for a smaller footprint -- to get more flexibility for fast set ups and quick interventions such as fast changeovers when bands perform for one night as part of a huge corporate event," he explains. "Or, for mid-sized corporate set ups in hotel suites or other areas where space is limited: trade show booths, hidden and small control rooms."

The dot2 XL-F will also fill the need for "specific and precise control interventions on some film sets," says Morin. "We serve this market quite a lot. Most of the time film environments are not used to staging approaches so we have to arrive on site with a very flexible solution."

He notes that Le Groupe Spectre Sonore configures the dot2 XL-F with "a 24" touch screen on the side for the comfort of the operator."
