The Venue Berlin Celebrates Grand Opening with DJs and Live Music Powered by Stinger G3 from LD Systems

A new cultural meeting place opened on September 28 at the new premises in Berlin-Kreuzberg: The Venue Berlin. Live acts and DJs provided a great atmosphere for 350 guests invited to the opening party of the new venue for digital music and audio innovations -- and equipment from LD Systems provided excellent sound. The Venue Berlin is a MEDIA ENTERPRENEURS project in collaboration with the Axel Springer Mediahouse in Berlin.

This new venue for digital music and audio innovations is a collaboration project between MEDIA ENTERPRENEURS and the Axel Springer Mediahouse in Berlin. 350 guests from the music, media, and digital industry came to the 300-sq.-m. work and event space for a live performance by pop singer Balbina, DJ sets by Sarah Farina, Grimme prize-winner Lars Eidinger, and DJ Supermarkt/Too Slow to Disco. A Stinger G3 system from LD Systems provided excellent sound.

In the future, The Venue Berlin will hold events such as readings, after-work meetups, discussions, music hack days, panels, workshops and songwriter camps in cooperation with Axel Springer Mediahouse music publications Rolling Stone, Musikexpress, and Metal Hammer. Since the three start-ups Groovecat, Clang, and Grammofy worked in the then unfinished rooms during the renovation phase from May to August, two new start-ups -- Besydes and talks -- have moved in. The celebrations were opened by Ulrich Schmitz, managing director of Axel Springer Digital Ventures and head of technology at Axel Springer SE, Petra Kalb, publishing director at Axel Springer Mediahouse in Berlin and Henric Hungerhoff, project co-ordinator for Media Entrepreneurs.

Schmitz says, "The Venue Berlin enables start-ups from the music technology sector to work together in premises that are perfectly tailored to their specific needs. This meeting place promotes uncomplicated interaction between start-ups, as does our accelerator Axel Springer Plug and Play, for potential investment in new business models." Hungerhoff says, "With the Venue Berlin, we have created a place where musicians, producers, creators, and journalists can come together and develop new products and formats for the music and entertainment industry. We are looking forward to seeing what comes from it." Kalb says, "The Axel Springer Mediahouse and other strong, industry-experienced partners make The Venue Berlin a networking location for Berlin's urban scene. Its special feature is the combination of music, technology and journalism."

The opening night gave the guests the opportunity to experience this combination: In addition to work places, the premises also feature a stage and a recording studio. The first project at The Venue Berlin is a ten-week program, The Future of Audio Entertainment Challenge, which is being organized by Axel Springer, six of Germany's leading radio stations (radio NRW, ANTENNE BAYERN, HIT RADIO FFH, radio ffn, Radio Hamburg, antenna 1) and the DO School -- an international education platform that helps young entrepreneurs realize their socially-oriented business ideas. Twenty creative professionals from all over the world will work together to develop new and innovative ideas and products for the audio entertainment sector.

The Adam Hall Group is one of The Venue Berlin's cooperation partners. The company provides support for this new creative nucleus in Berlin in the form of audio systems and accessories. So, in the future, a Stinger G3 series system from LD Systems comprising two active subwoofers and two tops will provide superb sound and speech intelligibility. In addition, Gravity stands will be used both on and off stage. Alexander Pietschmann, CEO, Adam Hall, says, "We are impressed with this innovative approach to a cultural, music-oriented meeting place. We can see the similarities with our own company philosophy, and we are therefore happy to support The Venue Berlin with our systems." Maximilian Bartel, responsible for the technical equipment at The Venue Berlin: "We are delighted to welcome Adam Hall aboard as a competent and forward-thinking partner. The installed sound system really impressed us -- and all the guests -- at the party."
