Face Audio Amps Power AV at New Loyola Marymount Athletic Center

Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, recently completed a fully outfitted athletic center with four locker rooms, an upstairs conference center with two adjoining mini conference centers, and a full weight and workout room.

Simon Productions, of Winnetka, California, was chosen to install the AV system for the facility. Owner Terry Stewart explains that he and his team were tasked to "create smart rooms in the conference area with LCD screens, complete audio systems and individual zone control for the conference centers.

"We also did the hallway sections throughout the facility as stand-alone zones with the capability to play independent sources throughout the building," Terry adds. "Each of the locker rooms has their own independent sound systems with TV screens and plug-and-play systems for power point presentations."

The project required extensive amplification, another challenge for Stewart and his team. As Terry points out, "We needed both two-and four-channel amplifiers that fit within the school's budget target. A friend of mine had used Face Audio amps very effectively on a New York install, so I called the company up for specifications and pricing and quickly realized they provide a significant bang for the buck."

Face Audio F2000TX Titanium Series two-channel and the compact and highly efficient Kinetic Series four-way power amps were used to power the entire AV system. Stewart recounts that, based on the exceptional specs, he "was willing to try the amps out on this job and we were completely happy with the results. They performed exactly to spec and they sound really good. Face Audio was a great discovery for our company as a new product line."

Other system components included QSC Isis speakers and Community subwoofers in the locker and conference rooms. Stewart also used an Ashly 24.24M system with seven processors throughout the building divided into 20 zones, along with Sharp, Toshiba, and Panasonic LCD flat panel monitors, Kramer VGA and HDMI wall plates, and Middle Atlantic racks.

Asked about his client's reaction to the installation, Stewart says, "We exceeded their expectations. They liked every aspect of the install, functionality, ease of use and sound quality. They were surprised with the power and audiophile quality of the system they were getting for the money they spent."
