Ishioka, Tsypin, Vanstone win Outer Critics Circle Design Awards

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre, opted for spectacle in handing out its awards this year.

Among the design winners, Eiko Ishioka and George Tsypin, of Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark, took the awards in the costume and set design categories, respectively. Hugh Vanstone also won, for the lighting design of Ghost.

The organization does not give out awards for sound or projection/video design.

The big winners at the awards were the musical Once and the comedy One Man, Two Guvnors, each of which took three awards.
