EAW Announces "i" Revision for VF Series

VFR159i in both black and white versions.

Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) announces the new "i" revisions to the VFR range of full range loudspeaker systems are available for order. EAW president Jeff Rocha made the announcement.

"We're excited about the "i" revisions," Rocha said, "and we think our customers will be, too. In addition to getting a more traditional look, we've brought over the sleek, elegant handles from the JF Series systems and developed a standard-order installation-only white version with no handles at all. What hasn't changed is the basic value proposition. For a wide range of customers, the VF Series represents an opportunity to reach a much higher level of performance."

The VFR range of two-way, full-range loudspeaker systems offers five options based on 15", 12", 10", 8", and 6" low frequency transducers. Intended for both mobile use and permanent installation, the enclosures of the standard black models include threaded mounting points as well as handles and a pole-mount cup that both accept covers for installations. Similarly, the input panels include both NL-type and barrier strip connectors.

The VF Series draws on core EAW technologies, including horn designs and beamwidth-matching crossover designs based on the popular MK Series. When processed with a UX3600 signal processor, users can apply EAW's proprietary focusing technology that eliminate anomalies in the time domain that are inherent to any transducer or loudspeaker systems. Focusing delivers an appreciably clearer, more natural sound, particularly in regard to vocal intelligibility.

"From a technology perspective," Rocha continued, "there is no other product in this category that approaches the VF Series. Simply having the ability to apply focusing settings to a traditional, two-way, externally-powered loudspeaker system puts VF in a class of its own."

In addition to the VFR range, the VF Series includes three VFM stage monitors and two VFS subwoofer systems. According to Rocha, the VFM and VFS range "i" revisions should be available in the second half of 2013.

"The VF Series products deliver amazing performance, and they're an amazing value" Rocha said. "The series is scalable and complete, with all mains, monitors, and subs. For a lot of aspiring audio professionals, this might be their chance to step up to fully professional gear. And that's exciting."
