d3 Technologies Announced New Pro Range and r11.2 at Prolight + Sound 2014

d3 Technologies, manufacturers of integrated video production systems, announced their new pro range during Prolight + Sound 2014 earlier this month. Consisting of two new hardware products, the pro range was announced alongside r11.2, d3's new software release with four new features aiming to help improve show design and production workflow. The company says d3 Technologies continues to strive to enable d3 users to create and deliver the best shows on earth.

Their top of the range solution, the d3 4x4pro includes industrial components in a custom case. This system is ideal for the most complex touring productions, massive multi-projector shows, and broadcast. It features four 4K outputs and enough power to make short work of the largest content sizes. Play up to eight layers of uncompressed HD or 4x4K (DXV/HAP-Q) with d3's Push Every Pixel technology. A frontrunner in flexibility, the d3 4x4pro features user replaceable VFC cards. Swap DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI, dual-DVI or quad-SDI according to show requirements and unlock d3's power anywhere. The d3 4x4pro will ship in June 2014, VFC cards will follow soon after.

The d3 4x2pro is a fully revamped version of d3's popular d3 4U v2.5. Featuring the same custom case, low-latency video capture, gunlock, and lockable connectors as the d3 4x4pro, the d3 4x2pro is the improved robust solution for concerts, theatres, and projection mapping shows. Although the d3 4x2pro is a faster and more powerful system than the 4U v2.5, according to the company it still "plays nicely with others" when using it in configuration with the existing d3 4U v2.5 or a new d3 4x4pro. Play 16HD from one system with d3's Push Every Pixel technology. Like the d3 4x4pro, the d3 4x2pro will be ready to ship in June.

The upcoming software release, r11.2, is focused on improving ease of use and allowing for a wider range of users. r11.2 will be available from May for existing and new d3 users. The following features will be added to release:
• SockPuppet DMX: The ability to control layers entirely from a lighting desk.
• HTML5: Render HTML5 content directly into d3, giving dynamic content delivery to your project.
• Footprints: The ability to pre-visualize the actual throw of a projector, how light falls off, size and shape of projected pixels, and how projectors interact with each other in the stage.
• Headless: The ability to set up slave machines without requiring GUI access. Set IPs, resolutions, genlock, update d3 versions drivers.
