Adlib Audio Launches AA Install Speaker Range

Adlib speaker designer Dave Fletcher with the Adlib manufacturing team: Tom McCarthy, Dave Fletcher, Dave Graham, Ian Greenwood, and Chris Toohey

Liverpool-based Adlib Audio launches a new specialist division -- Adlib Speakers -- to manufacture and market its AA brand of speakers, which are made in Liverpool, England.

Hand-crafted and designed by a team of individuals who know their audio, using quality components, precision engineering, and innovation, the company says the AA series is the ultimate "boutique" brand for those who understand that their sound really matters.

Adlib has been making, installing, and using the AA range very successfully for the last 15 years, primarily for its own installations and projects, and now they believe the time has come to step up and make the AA series available for re-sale worldwide explains Adlib director, Mark Roberts.

"The company is diversifying as the nature of the industry is changing," says Roberts, "We have enjoyed great success with these products over many years ... and now is a good time to use our experience and knowledge of premium speaker construction and application to expand our horizons."

Apart from its robust build quality and fantastic sound, the AA range is an affordable high quality product ... with a great track record which is ideal for numerous environments from installations to high end corporate events and industry shows.

A number of high-profile installations to date include the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool -- where the Beatles legendary career kicked off -- Bristol, Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham, Leicester O2 Academy's -- various restaurant environments such as Living Rooms x 8, Panacea Manchester, along with numerous house of worship and educational establishments.

All those using the AA series appreciate the warmth, richness, and natural sound quality, according to the company.

Bob Harrison of QMS Music has been retained by Adlib to establish an international dealer network and proactively market the AA product line.

He comments, "I am extremely excited to be working with Adlib on bringing this amazing product range to the marketplace, and I look forward to a long and very positive working relationship to establish the AA series in its own right as a leading-edge option for those with an ear for quality."

Currently, there are four products available for re-sale in the AA range -- the AA61, AA81, and AA121 -- containing 6", 8", and 12" drivers respectively, complete with a dedicated AA12HL 12" sub.

All the AA series cabinets are constructed from premium birch ply sourced in Finland, and are available with a hard-wearing textured paint exterior for installs.

The company notes quality engineering and detail goes into manufacturing the AA range all featuring the best components, custom speaker chassis, compression drivers and Adlib's own custom crossover networks.

The AA61 is a versatile two-way passive system for high output applications needing a lightweight and compact enclosure. Featuring a 6.5" (165mm) Neodymium low frequency driver and a 1" (25mm) exit high frequency compression driver, its integral phase plug is mounted on a 90-degree conical "wave guide" which is machined into the front baffle of the enclosure. The AA61 can be used in vertical or horizontal orientations due to its conical high frequency dispersion. Its high frequency compression driver utilizes solid state (PTC) protection circuitry to shield the unit from possible overload (amplifier clipping) situations.

The AA81 is also two-way passive and designed to provide sound reinforcement from a very expediently sized enclosure. It has a powerful 8" (200mm) low frequency driver and a 1" (25mm) exit high frequency compression driver mounted on a 90-degree x 60-degree rotatable hyperbolic cosine horn flare. The two-way passive internal crossover enables simple high output systems to be joined together ... while minimizing the amount of powered amplifier channels required. Its high frequency compression driver utilizes solid state (PTC) protection circuitry to shield the unit from possible overload (amplifier clipping) situations.

The AA121 is a full range compact two-way passive trapezoidal 450W enclosure, with a 12" (300mm) low frequency transducer and a 1" (25mm) exit compression driver mounted on a 90-degree x 40-degree exponential horn flare. Its high frequency compression driver utilizes solid state (PTC) protection circuitry to shield the unit from possible overload (amplifier clipping) situations.

All the full and mid-high speakers in the AA install cabinet range include M10 flying points as standard.

The AA12HL600 high powered compact 600W sub was designed specifically to complement the AA61, AA81, AA121 speakers and extend and increase the total low frequency output power. It makes an ideal portable system for performers and great low end reinforcement for bars or restaurants. Its bandpass design using dual chamber topology, offers extended low frequency output over a standard bass reflex design of a similar size and footprint.
