XL Video Announces German Perl Appointment in the US

German Perl, XL Video US

XL Video US announces the addition of German Perl as technical director media application and projection. After 10 years with XL Video in Dusseldorf, the company says Perl joins the US operation to position the subsidiary for expansion into complete turnkey video and presentation solutions for its clients.

XL Video is a provider of high-end video display systems delivering quality LED technology, projectors, and media servers as well as experienced technical support. Perl's role is to develop emerging video solutions for innovative shows.

While with XL Video Dusseldorf, Perl played an integral part in developing proprietary show control systems for clients such as Opel and Renault.

"We are pleased to have German working with us full time. His talent and skill will take us to a new level, allowing XL Video US to bring a new, more innovative, and creative focus to our video technology applications," says Rene de Keijzer CEO - XL Video US.

As his new department expands, Perl will engineer and oversee media server and show control projects and investments. "We want to expand our services to attract new clients by delivering a complete video infrastructure from display technology to the show control," says Perl.

No stranger to the US team, German has been collaborating on projects with the sales team since the North American International Auto Show in 2007.

"German and I have worked together on complex projects for nine years now. He blends highly technical, innovative insights with amazingly creative productions," said XL Video US account executive Leslie Dillingham. "His knack for responsibly and creatively taking on new concepts will be a major asset for XL Video's US clients."

For example, Perl recently collaborated with XL Video US on a projection mapping project for Dlectricity 2014 -- Detroit's festival of light-based art. The project called for wireless, synchronized projection mapping on two of Detroit's most iconic buildings, the Detroit Institute of Art and the Detroit Public Library. "Using 3D laser scans of the actual building we were able to create 3D projection simulations in the software. This allowed us to simulate the light distribution, and to choose the best possible solutions for projection distances, lens focal lengths, and light output," said Perl in describing the inventive approach to conceptualizing the project.

Perl will be based in the XL Video Atlanta office offering support to the entire US organization. About his move to the US: "Professionally, I'm looking forward to developing opportunities in a new market and the challenges that come with that. For me personally, I am excited helping our North American customers explore the newest ideas available to meet their presentation needs."
