Barnert Temple Upgrades Its Audio System with 1 SOUND Towers

	The temple features a left, center, right arrangement of Tower LCC84s, with four more as delays.

The Barnert Temple, a Reform Jewish synagogue in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, has integrated a new audio system utilizing 1 SOUND loudspeakers. The goal was to have great sonic clarity in every seat for spoken words from the lecterns, allowing versatile live music while blending in aesthetically.

ComNet Communications worked with the temple's AV team to implement the new audio system, choosing 1 SOUND's Tower Series as the main loudspeakers. The Tower LCC84, a line array, is billed as offering even sonic distribution in its field, covering a wide area with a long throw. Its true line-array arrangement means microphones are less likely to feed back if in the field of the loudspeakers. The Tower LCC84's precise dispersion pattern is also narrow vertically, so sound does not bleed into the cavernous ceilings. The product's cardioid property makes it suitable for limiting the sound on the stage area. Each unit has 20dB of cancellation in the off-axis/rear of the loudspeaker, limiting unwanted sound bleeding into microphones.

The temple features a left, center, right arrangement of Tower LCC84s, with four more as delays. For the low frequency, four SUB12s are recessed in the ceiling and concealed. 1 SOUND worked closely with ComNet to ensure a seamless color match of the loudspeakers. The system is powered by Powersoft T304 and T604 amplifiers.

"The 1 SOUND speakers are absolutely amazing. The customer was extremely pleased. I am pretty sure, since I started in 1981, that I haven't heard anything that sounds this good," says Ed O'Connor, AV systems designer, ComNet Communications.
