ChamSys USA Announces the New MagicQ MQ40N Compact Console

ChamSys' MQ40N compact console

ChamSys announces the new MagicQ MQ40N compact console -- a new version of the popular entry level MQ40 compact console -- four universes direct from the console, now with networking and external monitor support.

The MQ40N adds a single network port allowing the four DMX universes to be output via network (Art-Net/sACN) and enabling connection to MagicVis, the free 3D lighting visualizer, MagicHD, the free 10 layer Media Server and MagicQ Remote, the free MagicQ iOS/Android app.

The MQ40N is the entry level console in the MagicQ Compact Console line-up. MagicQ Compact consoles are designed to travel. The current line: MQ40, MQ60, and MQ70, in their soft cases, are all "carry-on" compliant for any airline in the world. The new MQ80, also being released at LDI 2015, is checked luggage compliant in a flight case or soft case.

The MagicQ MQ40N will be on display at LDI 2015, October 23 - 25, in booth 2315, and is shipping now.

The company says ChamSys occupies a unique position in lighting control: ChamSys does not believe in rules. "You want to use your own Art-Net or sACN interfaces with all the MagicQ console universes enabled? No problem. You want to add eight extra wings to a MagicQ system? No problem." says Chris Kennedy, software director of ChamSys Ltd.

MagicQ consoles output all their universes directly from the console -- no need for external processing nodes, no need to purchase additional "license" per universe. Even the free MagicQ software outputs all 64 universes of DMX.

ChamSys has cross platform compatibility: any show, from any version of the software, can be loaded on any console or PC wing and computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux), including the free MagicQ software. Multiple "consoles" can be networked to provide full, automatic or manual backup and takeover during performance.
