Line 6 Wins Top Honors at 2013 NAMM Show

Line 6, Inc., a manufacturer of solutions for musicians, won top industry honors at the 2013 NAMM show for its innovative StageScape M20d and StageSource live sound ecosystem and POD HD Pro guitar performance and recording solution. Line 6 also won a NAMM Best in Show "Company To Watch" award for the second year in a row.

Electronic Musician magazine awarded their "P.A. with a Big Brain" Editors' Choice Award to Line 6's new live sound ecosystem -- comprised of the StageScape M20d digital mixer and StageSource L3-series powered loudspeakers -- at an award reception on Wednesday, January 23. "Line 6 seems to take great enjoyment out of reinventing the ordinary into something extraordinary," said the editors in an award statement. "And now, they've pulled the same kind of trick for sound systems by reinventing the mixer, the speakers, how they interact, and even the way you operate them. In the process, the PA has gone from a sound system to an ecosystem."

At a gala event on Saturday, January 26, the TEC Foundation gave Line 6 the prestigious TEC Award for outstanding technical achievement in the "Musical Instrument Amplification & Effects Technology" category for POD HD Pro. This is the first-ever TEC Award for Line 6, and represents the highest honor from top audio producers, engineers, editors, designers, and other sound professionals.

At the traditional Sunday-morning NAMM University breakfast panel on January 27, Line 6 was awarded the NAMM Best In Show award in the "Company To Watch" category. "They are integrating all their equipment where it all talks to each other, and everything connects together," said Donovan Bankhead, vice president of Springfield Music, Springfield, Missouri. "These guys are going to revolutionize the industry."

"These three awards represent the highest accolades from dealers, the press, and our peers," said Line 6 CEO and president Paul Foeckler. "Together, they validate Line 6's approach to solving our customers' problems with solutions that address their evolving workflow and creative needs while delivering the absolute highest sound quality. Congratulations to the team here at Line 6 for all their hard work and commitment to this shared vision."

For more than two decades, the Electronic Musician Editors' Choice Awards have recognized the best new production tools in the music recording and performance industry. This year, they selected winners in 30 categories ranging from microphones to software to personal PA systems.

Founded in 1985, the Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards is the foremost program recognizing the achievements of audio professionals. Presented annually by the TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio, the TEC Awards recognizes the individuals, companies, and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games, and other media.

The NAMM University holds an annual breakfast session the final morning of the NAMM show. This year the host, Frank Alkyer, publisher of Music Inc, was joined by panelists Mike Guillot of Mississippi Music, Donovan Bankhead of Springfield Music, Brad Boynton of Rhythm Traders, Billy Cuthrell of Progressive Music Center, Ted Eschliman of Dietze Music, and Alan Friedman of Friedman, Kannenberg & Co. who awarded products and companies in four categories: Best In Show, Company To Watch, Gotta Stock It, and Best Accessories And Add-ons.
