Lightswitch Architectural Adds New Staff Members

Lightswitch Architectural has added three new staff members. Finding a new home in New York City is Mauricio Lopez, senior designer and project manager, while expanding the ranks in Chicago are Thatcher Waller, museum lighting designer, and project manager and writer Lee Potter.

Originally from Colombia, Loepz's past projects include EnCana headquarters in Calgary, Canada; Visionaire, the first residential building in New York to achieve LEED Platinum certification; and the United Nations International School (UNIS) in New York City.

Thatcher Waller originally trained as a theatrical lighting designer and began his work with exhibit lighting when dramatic design became necessary for museums to compete as entertainment destinations. The in-house lighting designer at The Field Museum of Chicago for the past 20 years, he has also served as a consultant to Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry as well as the Chicago Historical Society, Shedd Aquarium and Maritime Museum. He has designed over 100 traveling exhibitions and lit over 20 permanent exhibit halls.

A career veteran of theatre production, Lee Potter has worked at most of the major theatres in Chicago as production manager, general manager or producer. Involvement with companies such as Lookingglass, Chicago Shakespeare, Goodman, Steppenwolf and Broadway in Chicago, segued to project management for theatre planning and design. At one time a theatre consultant for Schuler Shook, she now brings her combined knowledge of these industries to her work at Lightswitch Architectural.
