Le Maitre to Show Full Product Line-Up at LDI 2013 in Las Vegas

Le Maitre HazeMaster

On their largest LDI exhibition stand yet, Le Maitre USA, providers of pyro and special effects, will be displaying and demonstrating their complete product line. LDI runs November 22 - 24 in Las Vegas; Le Maitre will exhibit in booth 1925.

Le Maitre USA will feature:
• Smoke Zone: G300; GForce 1; GForce 2; GForce 3; Mini Mist; Freezefog Pro; Pea Souper
• Haze Zone: HazeMaster; MVS; Neutron
• Pyro Zone: Pyrotechnic samples and controllers
• Flame Zone: Salamander Quad Pro; Salamander; CometFlame; Chameleon
• Effects Zone: Air cannons, glitter, and streamers

The Le Maitre line-up will also include a preview of the soon to be launched Salamander Quad Pro flame effect, as well as the launch of the HazeMaster.

The Salamander Quad Pro is the latest flame unit under development from Le Maitre, and LDI will provide the first opportunity to see the new machine prior to its launch later in Spring 2014.

The original Salamander flame effect, launched earlier this year has been a resounding success with tens of units sold across the globe and particularly in the US, where there has been a big uptake for tours and cruise ships. The Salamander Quad Pro follows on from this successful launch, extending Le Maitre's flame family offering.

The Salamander Quad Pro is a larger, more versatile system than the Salamander. A four canister system, it can be operated with each canister being fired independently and the option of multiple colors being loaded to provide a truly stunning visual display from a single machine. Firing the canisters sequentially can also be used to increase the duration of the effect, with up to 120 hits in total and each flame reaching around 12' in height. Alternatively, all four canisters can be fired at the same time to produce a much bigger single flame reaching up to 25'.

The new unit also retains a number of key features and benefits from the original Salamander design, including:
• A unique firing system which eliminates internal valves and accumulators, thus minimizing the chance of the system becoming blocked or leaking.
• Canister-based fluids, offering an ideal solution for anyone wanting to create a propane-style flame without the headaches. These eliminate the need for inconvenient external propane tanks, trailing pipes, and multiple valves, enabling quick set-up and at a fraction of the cost.
• A choice of colours -- natural and red, as well as a choice of fuels -- butane/propane (natural canisters) and where the use of propane isn't permitted, ethanol/methanol (red canisters), provide a great alternative solution.
• A number of safety features including a safety tilt sensor as well as ignitor monitoring are also incorporated.
• The unit is operated through DMX, five-channels (Ignitor plus four fire channels), and Ignitor channel address can be set independently from fire channels (e.g., fire: 2, 3, 4, 5; Ignitor: 12).
• A key feature of the original Salamander is its small footprint at just 204x170x433mm, and despite housing four canisters, the new Salamander Quad Pro is almost as compact at just 260 x330x425mm.

Le Maitre's awaited HazeMaster, the company's most advanced and powerful hazer yet, previewed at LDI last year is now being launched at LDI 2013.

It offers high output capacity, variable fan, and low power consumption. Add to that the rugged construction and the HazeMaster is engineered to withstand the rigors of the road when on tour.

Le Maitre has taken all their experience from HazeMaster's predecessors, the Stadium Hazer and the MVS Hazer, and designed a completely new machine with a host of new features and benefits. Le Maitre says the company has produced a more competitively priced unit, despite using higher quality, longer lasting parts.

The design is sleek and modern with a robust steel casing, with an industrial grade air-pump, a two-stage heating process, and a microprocessor controller, that the HazeMaster can convert up to 750cc of fluid per hour.

The output was actually 500cc in the pre-production units, but in the last 12 months, Le Maitre has managed to increase this by 50%. Le Maitre's Haze Fluid is 90% active ingredients. The high efficiency design results in the power consumption of the HazeMaster being just 800W -- less than half that of the Stadium Hazer.

On starting up the HazeMaster you notice just how quiet it is and with only a three to four minute pre-heat time, according to the company, the waiting time before use is much less than with many other hazers.

A high power, built-in fan is capable of moving up to 130 cbm/hr thus reducing the need for external fans and the inclusion of adjustable directional fan louvers which can be set from 45-90 degrees, not only control the haze direction but also play an important role in eliminating the condensation of haze on output.

The user panel is highly intuitive with easy to use controls and a three-digit LED digital display. The haze output and fan velocity can be adjusted in 2% increments over a 0-99% display range giving the operator ultimate control and a manual override mode allows the operator to make these adjustments at the machine even while in DMX mode.

The maintenance benefits of the new HazeMaster have been improved to meet the needs of the touring community. The cool-down of the heat exchanger is rapid -- just two to three minutes. This can be a big issue when it comes to general handling and maintenance. The heat exchanger is easy and inexpensive to clean and replace.

The HazeMaster, as with all Le Maitre hazers, incorporates their patented S.T.A.R technology, which uses a two-stage low mass heat exchanger technique to produce a fine, pure and consistent haze that hangs in the air for a long period of time -- a benefit for lighting operators, providing high definition to aerial beams, adding significantly to the impact and drama of lighting and laser rigs.
