Chauvet Launches New Products at PLASA 2011

The QWash 260 LED

Chauvet announces the release of Q-Wash 260-LED, COLORado Zoom Tour and AmHaze to the European market at PLASA 2011 (today and tomorrow, Earls Court London), Stand F-53. Additionally, Chauvet will be participating in this year's STLD LED Shoot Out presented by Society of Television Lighting and Design.

Q-Wash 260-LED joins the Q-Series of moving heads.. The company says it is a punchy, fast, and compact moving head wash light with RGB color mixing. This lightweight, easy-to-install unit has 37 three-watt, RGB LEDs, a six-degree beam angle, and nine or 12 channels of DMX control. Q-Wash 260-LED is an economical fixture which can be used in larger dynamic arrays or groups, and has an effect similar to a color-changing ACL fixture, the company says.

COLORado Zoom Tour joins the COLORado series of rugged wash lights for production and touring. It is an LED-powered wash light with a variable eight- to 30-degree zoom. It has 37 two- and three-watt RGBW LEDs, which provide massive output of colors from bold hues to subtle pastels, secure Neutrik powerCON in-and-out as well as direct DMX connections. Suitable for noise sensitive applications, this near-silent fixture has a rugged aluminum housing that cools the fixture without the aid of fans. COLORado Zoom Tour is also safe for use on camera due to its flicker-free performance, the company says.

AmHaze is a road-ready, water-based haze machine designed for large scale applications. The unit is housed in a durable, low-profile road case that is designed to be set on the deck or flown from truss, complete with Neutrik powerCON connections. AmHaze has a short four-minute heat up time and a super dry 3,000 cubic feet per minute of continuous output. An onboard display easily assigns DMX addressing while an onboard timer system adjusts the output of haze in intervals and duration times (without DMX control).

Chauvet also joins other leading manufacturers in a shoot-out of LED lighting fixtures, led by lighting designer Paul Middleton and hosted by the STLD. This is a new event, exclusive to PLASA, where attendees will be able to directly compare LED lighting fixtures in three different areas of a 240 square-meter space.
