ETC Selador Desire LEDs light up Australia's Adelaide Festival Centre

Silver Jubilee Organ lit by ETC Selador Desire LED luminaires, Festival Theatre, Adelaide Festival Centre, Australia

Twelve ETC Selador Desire D40 Lustr+ LED lighting fixtures are a welcome new addition at the Adelaide Festival Centre, the first of Australia's performing arts centers and still acknowledged by audiences and performers as the best in the nation. The ETC Desire fixtures recently uplit the famed Silver Jubilee pipe organ in the Centre's Festival Theatre, bathing it in rich color and creating a stunning backdrop for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra's proms concert.

According to Phil Haddy, head lighting technician at the center, the Desire luminaires have been performing beautifully, adding, "I really like that they offer a lot more colors than other units do and that their output is so good. The fact that you can use a variety of lenses to get your desired effect is useful too."

ETC's Desire-series D40 fixture puts the Selador x7 Color System into a round theatrical washlight. Highly efficient primary lenses and vast color choices make the Desire ideal for stage, studio, and anywhere that color and high-intensity are requirements. The company says the seven-color system produces the widest range of spectrally-balanced saturated and tinted color choices available.

"We wanted a fixture that was also robust and really an industry standard," said Haddy. "The ETC brand is well known and respected, which is why we looked to them first. Plus, the Selador Lustr+ is more theatre-orientated, without sacrificing the energy efficiency and long life you expect from LEDs."
