CORE Lighting at LDI2014

CORE Lighting's ColourPoint Mk 2

UK wireless LED lighting manufacturer CORE Lighting is exhibiting at the 2014 LDI expo in Las Vegas, November 21 - 23, for the second consecutive year ... reflecting increased business and a strong interest across its product range in the US and central America.

Two brand new products are presented in the US for the first time -- the PinPoint and the ColourPoint Mk2.

CORE's Phil Ion comments, "Following a great reception for the new products at PLASA London, we are hoping for further positive feedback at LDI. We will also be making some important announcements after the show as we focus attention on developing our markets in Canada and the Americas."

As for the new products, the PinPoint -- launched at PLASA London -- is a brand new, dynamic product -- fully designed and made in the UK as with all CORE's technology.

Already in production, the tiny IP65 rated wireless pin-spot / birdie weighs just 700 grams ... while its single LED lightsource outputs 300 lumens.

The head is connected to the base of the PinPoint via a flexible stainless steel "gooseneck" for maximum focusability, and the brushed aluminum housing gives a contemporary, streamlined finish. Further options include the base being capable of vertical or horizontal orientation, making it ideal for sitting on shelves.

In another touch of innovation, the magnetic base can be effortlessly clamped to metal objects of all types -- including lighting, sound, and video mixing consoles and control equipment -- where it can provide working light in awkward and challenging spaces.

PinPoint is designed to provide feature lighting for events of all types and specifically to tastefully highlight table centrepieces, floral arrangements, and other scenarios that need tight, detailed spot-lighting.

The standard battery life (fully charged) gives 10-12 hours of illumination, and an expediently sized flightcase system of 10 units offers total PinPoint portability including an integral charging facility.

The company says the PinPoint is an exceptionally versatile and cost-effective solution for anyone involved in staging or supplying event lighting and visuals.

The ColourPoint Mk2 is a lightweight lithium battery powered LED event up-lighter with full wireless DMX control. It is IP65 rated for outdoor use and offers 2,000 lumen output that will illuminate up to three levels of architecture / buildings / space, medium sized trees and foliage, and is an option for wall-washing in marquees, tents, and rooms.

New features include a selection of inbuilt programs including "color scroll," selectable "master/slave" modes, and PWM frequency control giving flicker-free operation for cameras at events or video shoots, in TV studios, or other broadcast applications.

A DMX output on the ColourPoint Mk2 enables the fixture to be used as a wireless DMX receiver to control other nearby wireless DMX lights.

Utilizing the latest quad-chip RGBW technology, the color mixing is smooth and homogenized and as with all CORE products, the company says, it's robustly built to withstand life on the road which is helping it to become the up-lighter of choice for numerous rental companies.
