Paragon 360 Completes Sanctuary Renovation at Parkade Baptist in Columbia, Missouri

Paragon's signature blend of custom scenic, staging, and architectural elements defined the character and atmosphere of the sanctuary, the company says.

Parkade Baptist Church in Columbia, Missouri, turned to Paragon 360 to breathe new life into its 700-seat sanctuary. As the final phase of an extensive campus-wide remodel, this project required a complete transformation of the space and a thoughtful reimagining of the platform.

Platform lighting upgrades featured a new moving light package positioned on a newly created upstage lighting position, along with lighting control systems and streamlined power/data distribution. Energy-efficient LED architectural lighting was integrated into every custom-built scenic and architectural element, enhancing both form and function. In addition, custom acoustical treatments were installed, improving sound control throughout the sanctuary while adding striking visual detail to the overall environment, the company says.

Paragon's signature blend of custom scenic, staging, and architectural elements defined the character and atmosphere of the sanctuary. Striking LED-illuminated faux stone and rich wood treatments accented the upstage wall, baptistry, and screen surrounds, while illuminated columns framed the stage with a dramatic touch. A modular choir riser platform -- designed to accommodate more than 20 -- was crafted with precision and finished with custom handrails. All elements were fabricated offsite in Paragon's production facilities while general construction progressed, allowing for rapid installation, accelerated project timelines, and substantial cost savings.

Design work wrapped in December 2024, with the full transformation completed by May 2025. Paragon's interior design team carefully matched existing finish samples to ensure every new element blended seamlessly with the church's established aesthetic. While Paragon 360 led the creative vision and design for the entire project, the church took on the role of general contractor, working with Paragon's project management team to bring the vision to life.

"Our big goal in working with Paragon 360 was to take something from the mid-eighties, and bring it up into 2025, and they hit the ball out of the park," says Eric Aldrich, worship leader, Parkade Baptist Church.
