Salzbrenner Presents New Release 1.5 for Polaris Evolution at IBC 2015

Salzbrenner's Polaris Evolution

With release 1.5, the Salzbrenner Polaris Evolution presents both new and familiar but further refined features for an even faster workflow at IBC 2015. Several features such as an external meter bridge using a tablet, the reworked user interface, extended monitor and routing functions, and the concept of 3D audio integration celebrate their international debut.

Polaris Evolution by Salzbrenner, a Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup brand, is a flexible networked audio platform to integrate and automate mixing, audio routing, and control applications. Its modular system and software topology enable one platform to cover all mixing applications, operating truly distributed and decentralized. Polaris Evolution has received several new features which will be presented at IBC 2015.

The Polaris Evolution user interface has been revamped with a clear structure providing direct access to all relevant channel parameters, enabling the user to work quickly and without distractions. The user interface can also be extended with an external meter bridge using a tablet, integrating seamlessly into the surface.

Furthermore, Polaris Evolution now offers an extended copy function. All parameter settings (such as input routing, inserts, sends, EQ, faders, etc.) can be applied to any channel collectively and in one step. This saves a lot of time and effort for the user, especially when dealing with huge amounts of data.

Aux swap helps to implement even the most sophisticated setups. Just one keystroke accesses the sends-on-fader function which manages the quick addition or deletion of sends as well as send level adjustment. The aux swap function is also applicable to matrix bus sends.

Initiated by the film industry, 3D audio processing has found its way into theatre and live productions. Its integration in Polaris Evolution allows comprehensive manipulation of sound objects in a three-dimensional space by modeling sound sources realistically for an immersive audio experience. The 3D audio integration proceeds from the routing of input sources and their object-based assignment to the usual signal processing to solid positioning in the auditorium, regardless of listening positions. This three-dimensional positioning or animation of audio objects can be undertaken during a live session or in advance, dovetailing with an optimized workflow for comprehensive productions. The entire graphical user interface by Fraunhofer-Institut für Digitale Medientechnologie IDMT has already been integrated into Polaris Evolution, therefore the mixing console is now not only able to display its own DSP channels, but also external equipment.

Experience these Polaris Evolution features and more at the joint Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup booth C80, hall 8 at IBC, September 11 - 15 in Amsterdam.
