1 SOUND Provides in Performance Venue at Soho House's, The Ned NoMad Hotel

The Ned NoMad's Ned's Club features a versatile performance space, called The Atrium, fitted with a 1 SOUND audio system.

The Ned NoMad Hotel in New York City, part of Soho House Group, recently opened with club entrepreneur and nightlife savant Richie Akiva as creative director. This is Ned Hotel's first American outpost. Ned's Club is a members-only club featured in the London hotel, created in 2017 by Soho House founder and CEO Nick Jones; it is also part of the Ned NoMad.

The Ned NoMad was renovated to honor the original details and charm of the building while going beyond the standards of the modern hospitality industry. Akiva says, "The littlest details are the most important things. The people who do notice them, that small percentage of people, are the people you want to impress. That's who we do it for."

The Ned NoMad's Ned's Club features a versatile performance space, called The Atrium, fitted with a 1 SOUND audio system. At night, the space, which features a glass roof and marble flooring, transforms into a lounge with live performances. Spectra Audio Design Group supplied two Tower LCC84s from 1 Sound for the main PA, mounting them on wall brackets. The controlled cardioid behavior of the Towers helps reduce reflections in the room. The Towers have a narrow dispersion pattern at 120° wide and 5° off the top and bottom of the column, with rear cancellation of about 20dB. These qualities provide control over where sound is placed in the room, preventing it from going into the glass roof or reflecting off the wall where the speakers are mounted. For distributed bass, six SUB12s are used.

"We have had weekly programming from live jazz bands to top New York DJs as well as pop-ups by Miguel, Badius, and Robin Thicke," Akiva says. "There are major acts in the works for future performances and we will continue to surprise guests with exciting musical programming."
