Denis Hessberger Joins Green Hippo as Freelance Hippotizer Product Specialist

Green Hippo announces that Denis Hessberger, has joined Green Hippo as freelance product specialist starting June 2016.

Hessberger has a strong background in the world of lighting, video programming and design. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge of both lighting consoles and media servers.

"As a long time Hippotizer user, I am excited to pursue this new challenge and am looking forward to support existing and new users from a user perspective, while bridging the gap between users and development," Hessberger says.

Hessberger's role will be product specialist, meeting and engaging with both our current and potential German users; liaising with both development and the marketing team to ensure that the award-winning Hippotizer media server range and all its newest features are bought directly to German customers.

Green Hippo product manager Ryan Brown stated: "The German market is important to us and we're delighted to have someone of Denis's experience and knowledge. He has a real passion for media servers and a great technical understanding of Hippotizer. We're delighted to have him on board."

Hessberger discovered the "lighting thing" while still at school and took up an apprenticeship with bright! creative event solutions as soon as he graduated. After three years at bright! Hessberger moved on to work as a technical support engineer and director of console development for German Light Products for two years.

Although Hessberger was happy at GLP, he desperately missed being out on the road. When he was asked by bright! to open their subsidiary in Hamburg in 2009, he moved to Hamburg and started working at bright! again. At the end of 2014 he took the chance and started his own company with a focus on lighting, media and UX/UI design, pre-visualization, programming (lighting, media, and cross-platform applications using Xojo and QT QML) and product consulting in an advisory capacity with regards to product development.

He has worked on many television shows, touring, and other live events -- as well as a lot of corporate shows. Additionally, he is a long time WYSIWYG user and trained on Cast Softwares Blacktrax. Hessberger is the perfect addition to the Green Hippo team while still being freelance and available to program and design shows, write or translate technical documentation, and to produce tutorial videos.
