New InFocus Projectors Create Dazzling Imagery in Large Venues

InFocus' IN5550 DLP projector

InFocus Corp., a manufacturer of digital display devices and maker of the Mondopad Giant Touch tablet, announces the launch of its new IN5550 projector series. With up to 8,300 lumens, the company says the IN5550 DLP projectors are designed to project crystal-clear images in large venues such as university auditoriums, worship centers, hotel meeting rooms, and convention halls.

The advanced features of the IN5550 Series include dual lamps and full-power 24/7 operation with both lamps running, motorized lens shift, and 360-degree projection and image blending, which lets users project separate images from multiple projectors, creating one stunning seamless image. The projectors also come with two easily replaceable color wheels. The presentation color wheel delivers rich colors with high brightness and the cinema correct color wheel provides precise RGB and CMYK color control.

"We built the IN5550 Series to project vivid and gorgeous imagery in large venues," said Dave Duncan, product marketing manager at InFocus. "The projection challenges in large spaces like convention centers are very different from those of a classroom or conference room. We build all of our projector lines to be best utilized in specific spaces. For large venues, there are no better projectors than the IN5550 Series."

With 3G-SDI and HDMI 1.4 capabilities, the IN5550 Series is the perfect solution for HD-quality video and audio from a variety of sources. Other connection choices include DVI-D and 5 BNC (RGBHV, YpbPr). The projectors feature a variety of wired and wireless control options including RS232, RJ45 Telnet network control, and wired remote, which allows users to run a small cable up to 100' and plug directly into the remote control that ships with the unit.

The flexible IN5550 Series offers six interchangeable lenses ranging from short throw to ultra-long throw. These bayonet-style lenses can be switched with the touch of a button and adjusted with motorized lens shift to precisely position your image. When the perfect position is achieved, it can be saved in one of 10 memory locations.

The IN5550 Series comes in three models, the IN5552L, IN5554L, and IN5555L that feature native resolutions of XGA, WXGA, and WUXGA respectively.
