Harman's Martin Professional M6 Lighting Console Wins Inaugural PIPA Award for Best Lighting Controller

Underscoring Harman Martin Professional's position as a leading provider of dynamic lighting solutions for entertainment production, the Martin M6 lighting console was awarded the first ever Prolight + Sound International Press Award (PIPA) for Best Lighting Controller.

The PIPA Awards are presented to the best audio, lighting, and musical equipment as voted by more than 100 production and entertainment publications from around the world. Martin Professional accepted the award on Thursday, March 13 at an event attended by more than 300 industry professionals.

"We are honored to be recognized by the industry with a PIPA Award for our M6 console at the first ever Prolight + Sound International Press Awards," comments Matthias Hinrichs, product manager at Martin Professional. "The M6 would not have been possible without the support and feedback of the talented global community of lighting designers that work with our M-Series consoles on a daily basis. This award validates our efforts to provide innovative solutions that enable the creative vision of our customers across the globe."

Designed to easily handle even the most demanding multimedia shows, the M6 console can control everything from conventional and moving lights to the most advanced media server. The console is based on Martin's proprietary M-Series software platform and provides users with a highly advanced visual control surface for fast programming and extensive playback control, the company says.

The M6 is Martin's most advanced console design to date, featuring a total of 44 playbacks, ten motorized faders, 12 additional faders, and a total of 17 encoders for parameter access as well as Martin's proprietary LiveBlender T-Bar, FastDial rotary encoders, and BriteTouch display.
