Carin Leon Concerts Shape a New Creative Visual with MEGA-LITE's Circa Scoop LED

"Travis has a strong visual style rooted in classic concert lighting, so introducing the Circa Scoop LED opened up an entirely new level of flexibility for this production," says Roth.

On May 21 and 22, Mexican singer-songwriter Carin Leon took over Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, delivering two performances filled with powerful music and immersive production design. Working alongside 4Wall Entertainment, the creative team developed a lighting concept that evolved throughout the night, using MEGA-LITE's Circa Scoop LED to create a stage environment that shifted with the emotion and energy of the show.

Creative director Travis Shirley designed a system centered around movement, symmetry, and atmosphere. The production featured eight elevated truss rows, each loaded with seven Circa Scoop LEDs, forming a large-scale visual centerpiece above the band.

"One of the most rewarding parts of this project was helping connect the creative vision with the right technology and production support," says Robert Roth, vice president of live events, 4Wall Entertainment. "Our longstanding relationship with Travis allowed us to move quickly and collaboratively, and the Circa Scoop LED ultimately became a key part of expanding the visual language of the show. It was exciting to help bring together the creative, operational, and technical sides of the production in a way that fully supported the scale of Carin Leon's performances."

During the opening moments of the show, the fixtures created the feeling of a glowing canopy suspended over the stage, surrounding Carin Leon and his musicians in warm atmospheric light. As the performance progressed, the stage design transformed dynamically. The truss rows moved into 45-degree angled positions, framing Carin Leon at center stage and creating strong geometric compositions that changed the perspective of the show from song to song. The transitions between positions gave the production a cinematic quality while maintaining focus on the artist and the emotional tone of the performance.

The Circa Scoop LED played a key role in achieving these layered looks. Its large illuminated scoop provided broad warm washes that delivered a rich golden glow across the stage, while the pixel-mappable outer ring introduced texture and motion during darker or more dramatic moments. The combination of soft scenic lighting and dynamic pixel effects allowed the fixture to move naturally between classic concert aesthetics and more modern visual treatments.

One of the most intimate moments of the night came when Carin Leon moved to a secondary stage surrounded by Circa Scoop LEDs. The warm glow of the fixtures wrapped around the performance space, creating a close connection between the artist and the audience while maintaining the immersive visual language of the main stage design.

For the closing act, the Circa Scoop LEDs reached their brightest and most energetic state of the night. Rows of glowing scoops and pixel rings filled the arena with intense warm light, transforming the stage into a massive scenic element and bringing the performance to a powerful visual finale.

"Travis has a strong visual style rooted in classic concert lighting, so introducing the Circa Scoop LED opened up an entirely new level of flexibility for this production," adds Roth. "The fixture gave him the warmth and large scenic presence he was looking for, while also bringing modern effects and pixel capabilities that allowed the design to evolve throughout the show. It created a much broader creative palette while enhancing the atmosphere and emotion that are so important to Carin Leon's performances."

Throughout the show, the Circa Scoop LEDs worked both as a lighting source and as scenic elements visible to the audience, helping define the overall visual identity of the production. The lineal arrangement of the fixtures, paired with the movement of the trusses and the large-scale video content, created a stage design that continuously evolved while remaining cohesive throughout the concert.
